Meet Our Staff

Director

Andrew Norton

Andrew Norton created Energy Kidz in 2009 when he noticed there was a lack of quality wraparound childcare and sports clubs for families and schools to access. As Energy Kidz grew he recognised that to ensure Energy Kidz was always offering the best service he needed to invest in developing and training new and existing staff.

This led to the creation of Reach4Skills who, as well as continuing to train in-house, now offer a wide range of training opportunities, both accredited and workshop based, to external providers.

Andrew also decided to move the sports side of the business to a new company Achieve Sports who, whilst still delivering sports in schools and running holiday sports clubs, also organise and run adult sports leagues.

All three companies are now part of the Curvepoint Group which is solely owned by Andrew to offer the distinct strands of childcare, training and sport.

Andrew is always happy to hear from any customer or client of The CurvePoint Group and can be reach via [email protected]

‘PE and Youth Sport Coaching Bsc Hons graduate from Staffordshire University. Graduated in 2013 and studied modules such as: Teaching and Coaching, PE in School Sport, Stress, Emotion and Anxiety, Coaching Professional Development, Bio-mechanics in Sport, Sport Teaching and many more. My dissertation was based on children in school sport and have a great knowledge of Physical Education in schools. My plan for Achieve Sports is to offer sport to every age in many different capacities, whether it be adult social leagues  or extracurricular clubs, development centres and PE lessons in schools. My three years at University was a great help to me to better understand teaching in schools,  I have worked in primary schools for many years and am passionate about teaching PE to all ages, over the years I have created my own curriculum for primary school sport that I think best helps children’s development across the ages. Primary sports include football, badminton, tennis however am comfortable in teaching all sports and have several level 1’s and 2’s across a whole range of sports.’

I have always had a passion and a drive for sport since a young age and have always been involved in sport either playing or coaching. Having previously spent years coaching I have had experience in delivering PE lessons in schools, working in my community setting up a local football team and worked coaching sport to children with additional needs. I have always worked with the primary aged children as this is where they are first introduced to sport and I believe they need a passionate, stimulating and knowledge lessons to help them engage and interest them in sport. Throughout my time coaching/teaching within schools I have picked up badges/certificates in Football, Dodgeball, Gymnastics, Dance, Lacrosse and attended many courses such as Level 2 Principles of coaching course, I have also spent time coaching all sports across the curriculum and am competent in each sport. I have previously spent time assessing sports coaches and training apprentices and during this time I have gained my assessors qualification and my PTLS.

Catherine O’Connor

Completing a degree in Sports Management at Bournemouth University inspired me to follow a career in organising sports events. I enjoyed all the modules I completed, especially one module on events management. This module allowed me to develop knowledge and experience of how to set up different sport events and leagues focusing on the venue, participants, fixtures and safety. I love to inspire and make it accessible for others to get back into sport or try something new.

I have been involved in sport since a very young age. I took part in all sports at school with netball and tennis being my two favourites. At secondary school, I started to play tennis at a higher level, which meant I had to stop netball. I am now looking to get back playing in a netball league and looking forward to joining a team in our new Farnham Monday League.
